Flexo equipment upgrade

During the last two years, A. Hatzopoulos S.A. has systematically upgraded and modernised its flexo plate making and press equipment, in line with the highest quality standards.

Among others, a state of the art, 10-color, Miraflex flexo press has been installed, as well as a new flexo CTP system for imaging photopolymer plates, a UV imaging system and a washing unit. Recently we invested also in the advanced Sibress FlexoControl 3D Plus plates quality control system; a precision measuring device for analyzing all key parameters of the flexographic plates.

3rd Packaging & Converting School postponed
The 3rd edition of our successful seminar series “Hatzopoulos Packaging & Converting School” was scheduled to open its doors this week in Thessaloniki. The event was planned to take place on 4&5 June with specific focus on Sustainability and in celebration of the World Environment Day, a day which highlights our dependence on nature and our planet’s health.

Prevention of Waste & Mitigation of Global Warming with Flexible Packaging
The Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (ifeu) recently extended its study on the positive environmental consequences of flexible packaging compared to rigid packaging formats. The study which was commissioned by Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE), shows beyond doubt that the use of flexible packaging results in greater resource efficiency as well as reduced carbon footprint. Specifically, the complete substitution in the EU of non-flexible packaging with flexible packaging for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), excluding the sector of beverages, would not only significantly reduce the overall packaging waste but also decrease by 33% the Global Warming Potential.
